The main objectives of IST-EC2 are to improve awareness in Europe and Canada of opportunities for R & D collaboration in the IST field and to help Canadian and European researchers meet and initiate joint projects. The IST-EC2 project plans to achieve these aims through the organisation of partnering events, information dissemination, dissemination events and/or virtual events both in Europe and Canada.
 

Networking events:
IST-EC2 will organize networking events during major IST international conferences, seminars, and workshops and will organize partnering sessions at these events. IST-EC2 will provide the opportunity for European and Canadian researchers researchers to present their projects and meet and network during the specified event.
 
Information dissemination events:
The main goal of information dissemination events is to promote and create awareness of IST-EC2, i.e. to ensure IST-EC2 visibility, and make sure that the partnering process and the research programs are well understood.
 
Virtual networking events:
With the use of broadband enabled networks in both Canada and Europe, researchers can meet virtually to continue discussions. For more information, visit the main Event Section page
