The eChallenges e-2006 Conference took place from 25 - 27 October 2006 in Barcelona, Spain. eChallenges e-2006 attracted over 640 delegates from 53 countries, representing government, industry, high-tech SMEs and research/academic organisations and Exhibitors from 17 countries.

While the IST-EC2 project did not have a stand nor gave a presentation at one of the sessions, project partners promoted cooperation with Canadian organisations.

The IST-BONUS project, with which the Hungarian IST-EC2 partner has already initiated collaboration in 2006, organised a networking event during the conference, where pre-scheduled bilateral meetings took place.

No Canadian participant was present at this networking session but the Hungarian partner of the IST-EC2 project represented them during her bilateral meetings by distributing a booklet of the Canadian research profiles to her meeting partners. The booklet of the Canadian research profiles was specially updated for this event in order to maximise the potential impact of the networking event.

The leaflet of the project was available for every eChallenges participant inside the exhibition. The leaflet informed the reader on the activities and objectives of the project, highlighted the next major activity of IST-EC2, the networking event in Helsinki during the IST 2006 Event and invited everybody to visit the booth of the project.
