Europe Canada Research Collaboration gets another 'Boost' IST-EC 2 at IST 2006 Helsinki!
Travelling from across Europe and the Atlantic IST-EC 2 partners attended the IST 2006 Conference in Helsinki November 21-23. During a busy week partners held a Consortium meeting, manned a booth that received a considerable number of visitors and held a partnering session.
With over 4000 reported participants in attendance, IST 2006 was a great success and offered the opportunity to learn about the new Framework Program 7, to visit with a significant number of existing projects, many of which had ideas for a new bid in the upcoming calls, and to 'network' in the very spacious and well organized Helsinki Fair Centre.
Thanks to the Canadian Embassy, and IST-EC 2 partner Canada's Foreign Affairs and International Trade, a reception was held and a number of invited guests were able to meet in an informal setting with both the Canadian and European IST-EC 2 partners as well as participants in the Networking Session that was held the next day.
Entitled Europe Canada IST Research Collaboration, the Networking Session was held between 11 and 12:30 on the last day of the conference. It proved to be very popular and the room was filled to overflowing. Invited presentations from Europeans and Canadians looking for project opportunities in the context of FP7 gave the audience a full view of the potential interests that were represented, and an opportunity to move forward to more substantive discussions.
