The European Commission, DG INFSO, Unit GÉANT & e-Infrastructure, organised a virtual information day to all world regions (Asia-Pacific, North Africa, Middle East, Latin America, USA and Canada) in the context of the planned launch of the first calls for proposals under the e-Infrastructures topic of the 'Capacities' Specific Programme, Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The prime objective was to bring awareness to the international community of the coming calls and to increase their current participation in future projects.

The event was organised via IST-EC2 partner UPM's Isabel technology and alternatively could be followed on a PC with standard streaming and using Skype occasionally to raise a question.

North America including Canada was on line between 18:30 and 19:30 where the regional contact person is IST-EC2 partner CRC.
