Information Society Technologies - Europe Canada 2 (IST-EC2) is a joint Canada-Europe project whose principal objective is to facilitate the participation of European and Canadian IST researchers in each others comparable Research & Technology Development (RTD) programs. Under the project, Canadian and European research and technology developers from both the public and private sectors, can search for European or Canadian RTD projects in which they would like to participate for mutual benefit.

The identification of prospective partners is facilitated by an interactive website, community newsletters, and participation in project sponsored networking events. Partners in joint projects are responsible for securing funding for their contribution to that project within their own organisations, or from other sources available in their respective countries.

This project continues the work of the original IST-EC project, which by its many successes, demonstrated the need for and appreciation of IST-EC services by the research community.
